EVENT INFORMATION
The Los Angeles Youth Orchestra, conducted by Artistic Director Russell Steinberg, presents its spring concerts, titled ‘Fate and Triumph’ on Sunday, April 15 at 4:00pm at UCLA Schoenberg Hall and on Monday, April 16 at 7:30pm at the Ambassador Auditorium in Pasadena.
The orchestra will perform Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 and Capriccio Italien, as well as Grieg’s Peer Gynt, Offenbach’s Ballet Parisien, Rachmaninoff’s Vocalise and Steinberg’s Carnegie Overture. Founded in 1999, the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra is comprised of 120 student musicians ages 8-18, from 60 schools throughout the greater Los Angeles area. The orchestra has performed at Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, Carnegie Hall, and toured internationally to Vienna, Prague and Italy.
